Roland Barthes has claimed that the photograph is invisible; that it’s impossible to separate its signs from the signed. Photography has also been considered ‘objective’ due to its documentary nature. My darknesses pose the question: how do these ideas change if you can take a photo of nothing, only for something to emerge from it?
